| Lenox Hill is a neighborhood in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The community was named for the 300 acre farm of Robert Lenox a merchant and real estate investor, who was born in 1759 in Kirkcubright, Scotland and migrated to New York City in the 1770s. It is bounded by Lexington Avenue to Fifth Avenue and from 79th to 60th Streets. The most famous landmark is the Lenox Hill Hospital founded in 1857 a fully accredited, acute care hospital and a major teaching affiliate of NYU Medical Center.
